Description of ESC setting options
How to enter option setting mode:
1. Connect the motor, ESC, and receiver to each other, but be careful not to connect the battery and the power cord of the ESC.
2. Turn on the remote control and set the throttle stick to the highest position (full throttle). (Note: The throttle position of most Futabas remotes is reversed.)
3. Connect the power cord of the ESC and the battery, power on the ESC, control the motor and make some rhythmic beeps.
How to operate option settings:
After entering the option setting mode, the motor will emit some specific regular beeps: a short rising tone followed by one or more short beeps. These sounds are the prompts for the current options of the ESC. Each prompt will be repeated 3 times and then change to the next main option. You can input commands (throttle sticks) before the end of the sound. The main option menu is cyclic, if you miss it, you can wait for the prompt to arrive again, it just takes some time. The meaning of the main option prompt sound is as follows:
Beep | Meaning of the tone | |
´â”¢7´â”¢8ÔÇö | Short music + 1 short chant | Main option 1: Battery type and number of batteries |
´â”¢7´â”¢8ÔÇö ÔÇö | Short music + 2 short chants | Main option 2: Throttle related settings |
´â”¢7´â”¢8ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö | Short music + 3 short chants | Main option 3: Brake (standard fixed-wing version ESC) / Operation mode (electrical direct version ESC) |
´â”¢7´â”¢8ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö | Short music + 4 short chants | Main option four: direction and protection mode |
´â”¢7´â”¢8ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö | Short music + 5 short chants | Main option five: advance angle setting |
´â”¢7´â”¢8ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö ÔÇö | Short music + 6 short chants | Main option six: PWM settings |
The first step is to select the main option and enter the sub-option menu. As shown in Table 1.1, when you hear the prompt tone of the main option that needs to be set, because the prompt tone is repeated 3 times, it is recommended that you pay attention to it the first time you hear it, and review and select when you hear it the second time. Operation: dial the throttle Pole position to the middle position (half throttle), this means to select the current main option and enter the sub-option menu.
Because you have entered the second level of the menu, the sound of the motor will now have some changes to distinguish the main option menu. The rising short music is changed to a short high beep to indicate which main option is currently in, and the short high beep of the main option is changed to long low Which sub-option is the beep notification currently (one or more short high beeps for the main option + one or more long low beeps for the prompt sub-option). For details, please check the sub-option list on the second and third pages. Each sub-option prompt tone is repeated 3 times and then becomes the next sub-option and loops.
The second step is to select sub-options and save. When you hear the prompt tone of the sub-option you want to set, because the prompt tone is repeated 3 times, it is recommended that you pay attention to it the first time you hear it, and review and select when you hear it the second time: Move the throttle stick to the top Position (full throttle), this operation means to select the current sub-option and save. At this time, the motor will emit a special long beep to indicate the end of the current operation. After that, the ESC program will return to the main option menu of the first step above and wait for the next command (continue setting or exit).
The third step is to end the setting and prepare to start the motor. When the options that need to be set have been set, pull the throttle stick to the end (throttle off/bottom), the ESC will restart (because the stick is in the normal operation mode at this time, it will not enter the option setting mode) to confirm All the newly set options will take effect (note that the exit operation does not carry out any data saving operation, just exits the setting mode and restarts the ESC. Except for the data that has been saved in the second step above, because when selecting sub-options The data has already been saved, so exiting the setting mode will not interfere with the saved data), and at this time, you can wait for the safety prompt to start the motor.

special reminder:
The entire electric system should be thoroughly tested before the plane takes off, such as whether the rudder surfaces are operating normally, whether the throttle is fully following (the motor will not rotate at the end of the throttle, and whether the throttle is full at the top) and other details are confirmed, and then the flight is confirmed. Ensure that the possibility of accidents is minimized.
