DIY Transmitter Antenna Signal Range Booster RC Quadcopter Parts for FIMI X8 SE
Size: 82*87*27mm
Note:
True parabolic range boosters for the Fimi X8 SE drone.
2.You also need a metallic reflecting surface, and for that you need a soda/beer aluminium can.
Take the can and cut out a piece of the wall that is 85 mm high and around 95 mm wide.
Make sure it is cut straight, because if it is crooked, it will not mount properly to the booster and will probably buckle).
3.Start by cutting out a piece that is a bit too large, then carefully press it flat on a cutting surface, and mark where to cut.
The aluminium is thin enough that scissors are perfectly fine to cut/trim it with.
It will spring back into shape even if pressed against the table for marking (or cutting).
4.The cutout should slide down from the top (but you will of course need to bend it outwards to do so, since the can has a smaller radius than the booster)
into the grooves on each side of the booster, and to make it fit perfectly, trim down the width little by little until you can slide it all the way down.
The edges of the aluminium cutout needs to be exactly parallell, of course.
Trim off a very small piece (chamfer) of the bottom corners of the aluminium piece to make it a little easier to slide in.
5.If all was done correctly, the aluminium will now have formed exactly to the inner wall of the booster,
and now has a parabolic shape with a focal point just in the middle of the antenna.
6.Now you can slide the upper mount onto the booster, and push it all the way down to where it stops and locks in place.
7.Slide the boosters over the antennas all the way down (see pictures) to get improved range for your drone.
Make sure that you keep the antennas pointed towards the drone, though.
